    Wedding invitations!

    I thought it best to chat a bit about one of old time favourites today instead of something brand spanking new.The format we are shining a spotlight on today is our fabulous A5 three fold invitation!

    This wedding invitation option offers so much versatility and is chosen so often by our clients for that very reason. One can jam pack tons of info into the folder without it looking too busy, as well as it can be designed with many a different design styles. In this specific option the brief was black and white, with a twist of fun – so we opted to use many different fonts and small decorative additions to bring the design to life. We have found that this particular invitation format works quite well with so many different looks and themes, from a classic timeless look  and feel, to a vintage farm chic and modern elegance. This format is a timeless studio favourite of ours!

    Always bear in mind that all our invitations come with the option of having a matching envelope. And why not save yourself the time draining exercise of hand writing each guests names onto your envelopes, by allowing us to print your guests names and addresses for you!

    Secret Diary ice cream Fridays!

    With it being peak wedding season, there is rarely ever time for our entire team to get together and just enjoy an ice cream or lunch together. In saying that, we could hardly resist the child like temptation of the sound of the local ice cream man when he came peddaling down our street. The poor unsuspecting ice cream man could probabaly believe his luck when out jumped all 12  creative bombshells and bombarded him for ice cream. All in all it was a YUMMY quick little get together and photo opportunity and was enjoyed by all! One cant resist but sing the cheesy lyrics to the “Friday song” by Rebecca Black!

    We are proud to present the first invitation designed by our  latest and greatest addition to the Secret Diary team…. Naomi Warwick ! Naomi studied in the UK and has brought with her a strong skill for layout and illustration!  This specific Secret Diary couple wanted a quirky bright country botanical feel to their wedding invitations and I think Naomi hit the nail on the head with the result being VERY happy clients!

    Secret Diary in the New Fair Lady Bride magazine!

    Layered stitched invitations

    One of our most favorite invitations to design is most definitely our layered stitched invitations! Not only can you have many different sized pages, but have a wonderful mix of fonts, designs and themes all rolled into one very jam packed creative booklet. These booklets tend to be anything from 140×140mm in size right up to 160×160mm and are great to incorporate little photo strips with either inspiring images which give your guests a sneak peak of your upcoming wedding or pics from a prior engagement shoot. This invitation choice is always accompanied by matching envelopes which can also be highly stylized and printed with your guests names and addresses. For a vintage twist we try to incorporate antique imagery from the early 1700 and 1800’s by bringing in old postcards, stamps, baroque decorations and calligraphy! Fabulous gold or silver foiling is also available to add an extra bit of bling to your cover page.

    This trendy invitation choice is definitely top of our list this summer and generally ranges from between R30.00 to R50.00 an invite depending on the number of pages and the finishes one chooses to have done.

    Ticket invitations

    Our newest trend in terms of invitations for this season would definitely have to be our awesome ticket save the dates and invitations! We can customize them with any colour and design preference of your choice as well as bring in some really intricate  and fun illustrations and decorative additions. This wedding invitation choice can also be designed as a boarding pass or movie ticket. Our “oh so quirky” ticket invitation range in price  from around R28.00 to R35.00 a ticket (depending if single or double side printed and how many you require) and can be accompanied be a matching customised envelope (at an additional fee) to finish the suite off perfectly! To save you the hassle why not allow us to print your guests names and addresses onto your envelopes for you!

    Wedding invitations

    Herewith a sneak peak of some of our latest wedding invitations!

    Weve been creating some real wedding invitation gems lately and thought that it would only be fitting to share them with all of our followers. From laser cut wedding invitations, to our signature passport wedding invitations, layered wedding invitations and stitched booklets – we have been keeping busy this winter!

    {Black and white Parisian elegance }

    For the wedding invitation suite above the bride was influenced by Parisian stripes and French elegance. Her simplistic colour choice of black and white was one close to my heart and we created them an invitation suite that mirrored the elegant look and feel they wanted for their big day. The couple chose to have 3 postcard size cards simplistically placed into matching printed envelopes which were all address to the guests by name and address as well as adorned with their signature wedding monogram on the lip of the envelope which was a nice extra touch!

    { vintage splendour}

    This breathtaking layered invitation was created for an amazing couple – Eloise and Thinus who came to our studio in seek of an invitation that was very much “them”  but with a vintage flavor to it.

    We were thrilled with the outcome when our senior designer Candice presented them with their first mock. The couple were no doubt overjoyed and the rest is history! Elloise and Thinus will remain one of our most favorite couples yet and their invitation is fast becoming a firm favorite!

    { Afro chic }

    This wedding invitation suite was inspired by African meets Bollywood type bold patterns and designs, a mixture of warm and bright colours and an overall love of exquisite stationery by the bride and groom. All in all we LOVED working on this wedding stationery suite and think the outcome was a traditional elegant invitation suite with a colourful & bold twist. Take special note of the exquisite envelope liners that really brought the stationery suite to life!

    For all our loyal Passport invitation fans out there who send us hundreds of emails a day to see more pics of these little gems – this is for you!

    Our passport invitations have fast become a Secret Diary Designs signature collection! Each passport invitation in 100% unique and is designed around the personality and style of that specific client and their event. We have currently even been propositioned by large corporate companies to create passport invites for their corporate parties and functions which has been great fun! Our passport invitations are best received by your guests in a matching customized envelope which we gladly customize with each of your guests names, surnames and addresses at a minimal additional fee. To finish your envelopes off nicely we suggest that your monogram be repeated on the lip of the envelope where the envelope is sealed and occasionally a touch of additional imagery could add a bit of character to front of the envelope. For added luxury all our envelopes are sold with optional envelope liners which can be printed with a pattern of your choice!

    All in all Secret Diary is in the midst of our busiest season to date! Our team has rapidly grown to a whopping group of 7 designers and creativity is at its peak as we are ready and set for the summer months ahead and all the awesome weddings that are to follow!
