Stationery & Wedding Feature | Alexia and Peter | Destination Wedding in Fiji

Earlier this year we had the privilege of designing invitations and wedding day stationery for Alexia and Peter, a couple from New Zealand. We are in absolute awe when looking at the photos and seeing how beautiful their special day came together in Fiji.

We created a couture design for their invites, which included a gold ornate perspex invitation, a textured additional card with gold foiled text and a custom monogram. The invite was placed inside a white textured envelope with a custom-made wax seal. The classic gold and white theme continued throughout their stationery designs in the four-page program fans, napkin bands, and on-the-day decor.

From the all-white floral arrangements and island garlands hanging from the ceilings to the casual reception dinner on the beach, this wedding feels like it hit the perfect combination between a destination and traditional style.

Our E-store Pick | The Atrium Suite

We are ending off this week with a beautiful botanical invitation and stationery suite. This is a full suite with all the bells and whistles; you’ve got your invitation, menu, place card, program/order of service and seating chart to complete the set. This suite is understated, but with a natural modern style.

The invitation is an A5 flat card made from thick white paper, with digitally printed text. The envelope is made from brown kraft paper and finished off with a patterned liner.

The menu follows through with the pattern, white overlay and text printed on a white A5 card. The place card and paddle program fan make use of the same crisp design to keep that golden thread. The paddle fan is ideal for summer weddings – so simple but so practical! The seating chart is a large block mounted canvas and we see the signature botanicals coming through once again.

Wedding Feature: Tatum & Piero

A while ago we designed Tatum and Piero’s lovely navy and white wedding invitations. We talked about them in a blog post here, because they were just such cool and quirky pieces!

I love how to see how invitations and stationery come together in the end as a cohesive vision. This invite and stationery suite was no different. I love how the couple’s personalities shone through the little touches in the stationery – from the cutest “best day ever” phrase recurring throughout to the hilarious “sit yo’ ass down!” on the seating chart. It seems like one really gets to know the couple by the stationery and quirky details they incorporated into their special day.

The Sweetest Suite

A while ago we featured Dominic & Emma’s beautiful wedding invites on the blog. Most of the time we only see the star of the suite – the invites, taking the lead role in the planning phase. But, today I wanted to shine the lime light on the supporting acts; the stationery pieces that dutifully ties your wedding theme together.

Even though each of the items below were inspired by it’s leading counterpart, they are all special in their own way. The menu is bold and confident as a DL flat card, laid neatly on a simple napkin. The bar menu feels more quirky and exciting as it stands as a tented sign. And then keeping up with the rest of the suite, the programme adds just a touch of whimsy when it’s tied together with twine.

These items work together lovely and maintain the golden thread of the suite with each sporting matching paper and that really specially designed wreath monogram.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue

We designed modern, simple yet sophisticated stationery for Roelien & Sean’s wedding. From the seating charts, to the menus and the Order Of Service, everything tied back to their original invite that boasted a clean palette of white, blue, silver and grey. All the design elements had an underlying theme of delicate fauna and flora right throughout. Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of their wedding stationery is the fact that it creates such a clean and open environment in a world that is so often cluttered with too many colours and frills. The typography in the invite always works as bold type paired with light type to create an interesting contrast to the eye. Throughout the design elements, the eye travels smoothly through every aspect, thanks to the small visual aid of the birds, that create a consistent visual path.

Dreamy & Dramatic

No other word can describe this dreamy wedding than DRAMA – in the best way possible of course! With overflowing florals and touches of gold, Toni and Mark’s dreamy dramatic wedding was just stunning with the ever amazing Nicolette of Nicolette Weddings. We adored designing their stationery and thought our ornate mirrors and perspex table numbers were the perfect compliment.

Narine + Jurgen

This romantic old French inspired wedding was highly influenced by the super creative and organised couple, Narine and Jurgen. Their stitched letter pressed and printed invites set the tone for this beautiful wedding at Brenaissance, Stellenbosch captured by Nikki Meyer Photography.

Rock ‘n Roll Wedding Bells

Everybody let’s Rock! Georgina and Niall did just that for their Rock ‘n Roll themed wedding which seemed to be a high rolling good time! Their existing logo (created by a close friend of the couple) inspired the design for their Save the Dates, Order of Service, Seating chart and decorative stickers. To add to the rocking theme, modern black and red laser cut perspex wording was used to add an element of fun to the tables illuminating the vinyl place setting.

Vintage postcard inspired wedding & social stationery

We have recently seen a massive influx of clients requesting vintage postcard inspired wedding and social stationery which we can but only meet back with a smile, as vintage postcards are a secret favourite around the SD studio!

We are able to bring a touch of vintage into any event through lovely “aged” invitations or reception stationery which can be anything from table numbers printed on old vintage postcards to placecards, seating chart cards and menus.
