Today is Heritage Day and we’ve designed a special suite for the occasion! Introducing National Treasure – an African-inspired invitation and stationery suite that makes one want to spend an afternoon with sundowners in one of South Africa’s magnificent game reserves. We’ve gone with a muted colour palette that is reminiscent of the dusty bushveld and we’ve brought in pretty tribal patterns, all to be printed on a smooth paper.

Wedding Feature: Laureth & Wayne

Our featured couple for today is Laureth & Wayne; The couple got married at the Strandkombuis, Yzerfontein, and although they tied the knot in March 2014, we could not resist showcasing this fun and quirky couple’s wedding. We absolutely loved to create all of their beautiful and fun stationery items including heart-shaped seating chart cards, menus, tags, stickers, a banner and wooden engraved signs to name but just a few. Their beachy theme was celebrated with hints of turquoise used throughout all their stationery items.

Our E-store Pick | The Atrium Suite

We are ending off this week with a beautiful botanical invitation and stationery suite. This is a full suite with all the bells and whistles; you’ve got your invitation, menu, place card, program/order of service and seating chart to complete the set. This suite is understated, but with a natural modern style.

The invitation is an A5 flat card made from thick white paper, with digitally printed text. The envelope is made from brown kraft paper and finished off with a patterned liner.

The menu follows through with the pattern, white overlay and text printed on a white A5 card. The place card and paddle program fan make use of the same crisp design to keep that golden thread. The paddle fan is ideal for summer weddings – so simple but so practical! The seating chart is a large block mounted canvas and we see the signature botanicals coming through once again.

Wedding Feature: Tatum & Piero

A while ago we designed Tatum and Piero’s lovely navy and white wedding invitations. We talked about them in a blog post here, because they were just such cool and quirky pieces!

I love how to see how invitations and stationery come together in the end as a cohesive vision. This invite and stationery suite was no different. I love how the couple’s personalities shone through the little touches in the stationery – from the cutest “best day ever” phrase recurring throughout to the hilarious “sit yo’ ass down!” on the seating chart. It seems like one really gets to know the couple by the stationery and quirky details they incorporated into their special day.

Blushing Bride

I am often a creature of habit. I enjoy doing designs that suit my taste and my style. However, everybody is unique and I think that is the part I love the most about the design industry – the diversity of clients. For this wedding, the couple were Indian. The wedding was a two day event, that started off with a Moroccan inspired evening event. I loved designing the stationery for this event, all around a Moroccan theme. I was overwhelmed with all the beauty and detail that I found in the reference pictures of Moroccan design elements, for my stationery. The next event was the Black Tie Wedding, which was the next day. For this event, the style was slightly more contemporary and floral as opposed to the traditional Moroccan stationery on the evening before. I used a really beautiful and delicate script typeface to bring across the detail of a traditional Indian wedding, but also the elegance in its thin letterforms. The bride’s palette for this wedding was a soft ballet pink, gold and white which really tied in as a whole with the flowers and other decor at the wedding. I really enjoyed designing in a different style in contrast to my own and learning about weddings in different cultures.

Rene and Dirk’s Wedding

We recently created some stunning couture stationery pieces for Agape Wedding clients, Rene and Dirk, who were wed at Rockhaven Farm.

Every single detail of this wedding is exquisite – from the vintage car down to the monogramed cufflinks. The brief was for the stationery to be modern but with a warm botanical element to it. We designed this lovely floral pattern that incorporated pinks, berry tones, greens and golds. The whole wedding looks absolutely stunning and was shot by the very talented Tasha Seccombe. Take a look at some of the stationery shots below and how beautifully everything fits together! The glitzy gold bridesmaids dresses are just incredible and look amazing hanging on our engraved wooden hangers. However one of our favourite pieces that we designed for this event is the canvas seating chart with the floral border.

Dreamy & Dramatic

No other word can describe this dreamy wedding than DRAMA – in the best way possible of course! With overflowing florals and touches of gold, Toni and Mark’s dreamy dramatic wedding was just stunning with the ever amazing Nicolette of Nicolette Weddings. We adored designing their stationery and thought our ornate mirrors and perspex table numbers were the perfect compliment.

This year we have seen multiple trends within the wedding industry adding much variety to the many weddings we have been so fortunate to be a part of. One though which we adored was the use of deep, dark and rich colours. We collaborated with Blank Canvas for this divine Black on Black styled shoot which took the dark hue and made it elegant, dreamy and purely sophisticated. We used laser cutting, stamp foiling and blind printing to create beautiful patterns, textures and dimensions.

This romantic old French inspired wedding was highly influenced by the super creative and organised couple, Narine and Jurgen. Their stitched letter pressed and printed invites set the tone for this beautiful wedding at Brenaissance, Stellenbosch captured by Nikki Meyer Photography.

As Spring starts to weave it’s magic, our studio is a buzz with enticing new changes and inspiring designs. With these, extraordinary photo shoots (stay tuned as there are so many to share), and this one – (photographed by Dehan Engelbrecht) was no exception. Elegant and fresh with touches of gold the simplicity, our gold stamp foiled invite (with a GLITTER LINER), perspex place cards, gold foiled gift boxes, menus and seating chart were perfectly placed.
