Birthday stationery: All you need to know

Whether you are turning 2 or 82 it doesn’t matter – a birthday should always be celebrated in style and should never be spent quietly hoping that no one will notice that you’re getting older. It is the after all the one day of the year that everyone celebrates you for being you! At Secret Diary we love birthdays because come on what is not to love? Eating scrumptious cake and tearing open wrapping paper will always near the top of my favourites list. Wedding Feature: Tatum & Piero

A while ago we designed Tatum and Piero’s lovely navy and white wedding invitations. We talked about them in a blog post here, because they were just such cool and quirky pieces!

I love how to see how invitations and stationery come together in the end as a cohesive vision. This invite and stationery suite was no different. I love how the couple’s personalities shone through the little touches in the stationery – from the cutest “best day ever” phrase recurring throughout to the hilarious “sit yo’ ass down!” on the seating chart. It seems like one really gets to know the couple by the stationery and quirky details they incorporated into their special day.

Tracy & Colin’s Black & Gold Reception Stationery

This beautiful black and gold stationery was designed for Tracy and Colin’s wedding at Val de Vie Estate in Paarl. A classy mix of romantic golden elements and quirky black and white gift favours makes this the ultimate wedding stationery to drool over. The different paper elements work well together to create an elegant and luxurious stationery suite for any modern wedding. The gold engraved perspex fan that is finished with a golden tassel is the perfect order of service stationery for any hot wedding in the Cape. The golden laser cut and engraved badge and place card adds to the unique and glamorous appeal of this stationery suite. The simple touch of black and white striped elements like the tented food cards, ice cream cone and laser cut food flags add a certain down-to-earth nature to the best part of the wedding; which is of course the food. This elegant affair took place on a gorgeous autumn day at Shepstone Gardens in Johannesburg and overflowed with stunning table pieces which complimented their delicate laser-cut stationery pieces.

Going Green

Natural and purely organic . . . . this wedding was the essence (and perfect example) of an environmentally conscious celebration with a “less is more” approach. The strictly vegetarian bride and groom requested there be as little waste as possible, allowing for elemental organic flower arrangements and take-home-and-plant-me gifts which served as table decor.
