Whether you are turning 2 or 82 it doesn’t matter – a birthday should always be celebrated in style and should never be spent quietly hoping that no one will notice that you’re getting older. It is the after all the one day of the year that everyone celebrates you for being you! At Secret Diary we love birthdays because come on what is not to love? Today on our blog we give you the low down on everything you need to know about perspex.

Perspex is a very versatile product, it is a solid plastic made of polymathy methacrylate and can be used on the laser cutter and so it’s wonders are endless. Phew that’s the sciencey bit out of the way!

Our most luxury perspex is our metallic mirror range, which comes in silver, gold and bronze. This can be engraved and cut into an exceptionally unique invitation or cut into a beautiful cake topper. Wedding Feature: Tatum & Piero

A while ago we designed Tatum and Piero’s lovely navy and white wedding invitations. We talked about them in a blog post here, because they were just such cool and quirky pieces!

I love how to see how invitations and stationery come together in the end as a cohesive vision. This invite and stationery suite was no different. I love how the couple’s personalities shone through the little touches in the stationery – from the cutest “best day ever” phrase recurring throughout to the hilarious “sit yo’ ass down!” on the seating chart. It seems like one really gets to know the couple by the stationery and quirky details they incorporated into their special day.

It’s a versatile look for many an occasion with a touch of whimsical class.

We could not contain ourselves when we saw our stationery featured on Green Wedding Shoes. This Vogue inspired “Surprise Elopement” shoot, with all South African vendors, called for modern yet classic pieces with fun elements. Our lasercut menu strip is the perfect example of this! We also made use of our stunning gold perspex and smooth skin papers.

Wedding stationery for Lara and Roche

We had the privilege of designing some really special wedding stationery for the wedding of Lara and Roche at Allee Bleue earlier this year on the 23rd of March. Their stationery was designed in classic silver, black and white tones which complimented their decor to create an overall look of simplistic elegance. The silver mirror perspex cake topper we created for them was one of our favourites.

We wish Lara and Roche all the best on their journey together and look forward to seeing them in the future again for baby showers and birthdays!

Please note that should you opt to have a proper monogram designed and not just make use of your names or initials in a pretty font then a R250.00 additional design fee will apply for the design and setup thereof.
